Creation of a digital back-end for managing the digital services of a commercial vehicle manufacturer

A well-known commercial vehicle manufacturing company (delivery vans, maintenance vans, freight transport, etc.) with over 100,000 vehicles in the market has decided to launch a line of electric vehicles. As an inherent part of the new vehicles’ functionalities, digital management capabilities are integrated.

Solutions such as route monitoring, driver behavior, vehicle status, and services related to the safety and protection of the vehicle and its contents are some of the digital solutions that are intended to be implemented.

As a result of this need to create a digital infrastructure for the vans, the company has hired GALEO – in collaboration with its partner Y-Mobility – for the design and creation of a digital back-end for the vehicles.

The solution is built on managed services in the cloud, opting for serverless technologies that automatically scale, thus allowing us to correctly balance between cost and performance. The transmission of information is carried out via the TCU. Services capable of forming a bidirectional channel with the Cloud are deployed and secured through SSL certificates.

Thanks to this solution, it is also possible to manage what is sent and how often from the cloud itself, thus being able to adjust the amount of information we receive from the TCU.
