Digitized Management of Photovoltaic Plants
In the corporate context of photovoltaic generation, the complexity of infrastructures poses an operational and management challenge. In the case of energy communities—with smaller installations and a wide variety of stakeholders and business models—this technological complexity is compounded by the need to contain costs and make information use more flexible in order to innovate in business models.
This was the case for one of our clients, managing more than 500 small photovoltaic installations, who faced very limited capabilities for the integrated management of their entire asset portfolio.
Through the development of a cloud-based IoT platform and a customized edge monitoring capability, GALEO was able to deliver a platform that hides all underlying technological complexity, providing the installations with a simple, uniform, and fully digitized operation and maintenance model.
To achieve this, a combination of edge-deployed software and a cloud IoT platform was implemented. This solution enables the homogeneous collection of telemetry data from all installation equipment and unifies operational capabilities transparently across the entire deployed infrastructure.

With the solution developed in collaboration with GALEO, the client can finally offer an integrated photovoltaic plant management system that includes proprietary telemetry hardware—based on GALEO’s Edge Node technology—which standardizes signal acquisition and enables real-time, fully digitalized remote operation of plant equipment.
In addition, the platform provides user applications for control, planning, and optimization of remote device management, offering advanced management services highly valued by their customers. Access to public cloud analytics also allows the solution to scale both in volume and functionality, with planned integration of AI-based capabilities for maintenance and operational recommendations.
Currently, the client operates more than 500 installations, with a projected growth of 300 per year and plans to incorporate new energy devices. The platform provided by GALEO has enabled the implementation of an agile and efficient model, allowing our client to maintain a distinctive, competitive image and value proposition for their users.
