Monitoring of Digital Services in Hospitality Environments
Thanks to the acquisition of Datumize, as mentioned in previous pages, we have been able to enter the tourism and hospitality sector—an industry where user experience is key and has a direct impact on business performance. One of the most demanded services by hotel guests is connectivity, essential for work, entertainment, and staying in touch with family and friends, and a key factor in customer satisfaction.
Connectivity directly impacts the competitiveness of a hotel and plays a decisive role in guests’ choice of accommodation. A fast and stable connection provides a clear competitive advantage over those that do not offer it.
There is also a significant segment of business travelers who select hotels based on the quality of the Internet connection. Negative comments and reviews resulting from poor Wi-Fi quality can harm reputation, while positive feedback can enhance it — directly influencing potential bookings, as most guests rely on reviews during their decision-making process.
Moreover, good connectivity supports the adoption of in-room technologies such as smart TVs, environmental control systems, and virtual assistants. From a marketing perspective, Wi-Fi also enables valuable opportunities to gather guest data and support personalized marketing and service strategies.
The client trusted GALEO to develop an integrated platform that manages all Wi-Fi elements across its hotel complexes and performs real user experience tests through special devices known as probes. These probes simulate guest behavior when accessing the connectivity portal, performing automated measurements to assess the quality of the Wi-Fi provided.

Currently, the platform manages over 4,000 devices distributed across 25 hotels worldwide, serving more than 14,000 rooms. The platform enables the client to access advanced functionalities such as:
- Continuous monitoring of streaming, email, messaging, and web services.
- Tracking and monitoring of latency and upload/download speeds.
- Validation of signal strength in all locations.
- Emulation of the Wi-Fi registration process for new guests.
- Dashboards with service health indicators: quality, availability, and stability.
- Alarm and notification modules.
Thanks to this advanced Wi-Fi monitoring platform, the client now has comprehensive control over the connectivity experience of their guests, achieving a significant reduction in complaints within their hotel division and an increase in their Net Promoter Score (NPS).
