Observability platform for a major photovoltaic company

The photovoltaic generation market is an increasingly booming market, and our clients increasingly need a tool for monitoring their assets, both internally and externally.

Based on our experience creating digital twins and in collaboration with one of the largest clients in this sector, we have developed a solution based on the extraction, modeling, and monitoring of all their photovoltaic plants.

Initially, our client had local monitoring at each of their plants, which was required to be maintained. Therefore, we set up a solution that could coexist with the initial one, creating a homogeneous and centralized data model among all of them.

Through this new solution, our client is capable of:

  • Having a centralized data platform based on the telemetries of the different assets, which are collected by various IoT devices and sent in real-time.
  • Having an analytical platform for monitoring use cases and advanced analytics.
  • Getting a generalized view of the behavior of the different plants within a map thanks to the definition of alarms and associated severities.
  • Having an individual view of each plant to understand the behavior of its assets and anticipate new failures.
  • Integrating within these individual visualizations the capability for a Digital Twin visualization specific to each plant.
  • Defining the different alarm thresholds and severities at the plant level through automatic processes.
  • Easily integrating new plants and use cases thanks to automated processes for discovering new metrics and devices.
  • Making the solution available to both their end customer and their maintenance teams, thanks to a role-based access model.
Observability platform for a major photovoltaic company,

Thanks to this solution, it has been possible to monitor over 100,000 assets within a single platform, corresponding to hundreds of thousands of hectares of photovoltaic plants spread around the world.
