AWS Data Engineer (IoT & Data)

We are looking for versatile Python developers, to work on our IoT and Data Platforms projects, so depending on the project, we work with scripts and small programs for streaming processing, assembling APIs and backends with Django and Fast API, or processing data with Spark and other technologies.

You will probably learn a lot of things, we use (and your knowledge will be valuable) with AWS IoT suite, MQTT, Kafka, Lambda, DynamoDB, Relational DB, Redshift, S3, Glue, Airflow… The only thing that matters to us is that you are passionate about Python, data and caching.

Roles and responsibilities

These will be your main functions:

Python development for real-time projects
Development of services for containers or lambda functions
Create Terraform templates (on time) to deploy your components.
Join a bunch of services on AWS to create complex platforms.
Depending on the project and your specialty, development in technologies such as Spark, DBT, Airflow or Databricks.

Professional competencies

We do not expect you to control everything, we value what is not written here, and what matters to us is your ability to absorb new knowledge:

2 to 5 years experience as a Python developer
Experience in public cloud, mainly AWS
Minimum knowledge of Docker is a plus
Experience with Terraform is a plus
Experience working with IoT or streaming data platforms is a plus.
Knowledge of other programming and scripting languages is an asset.
Fundamental: appropriate personality to work in a team and deal directly with our customers. We work remotely, so communication with the rest of the world is essential for the formula to work.
The most important thing is that you have experience in different technologies and you are motivated to keep learning from each technological ecosystem.

Requirement

We prioritize hiring in Asturias, although we will consider candidates from anywhere in Spain if their experience and worth justify it.

Technical demonstration / practical challenge. Nothing too complex, just a little test so we can see how you work and give you room to shine.
Interview with our Tech Manager or CTO. We will talk in more detail about your experience, interests and technological vision.
Meeting with part of the team (optional). If you feel like it, you will be able to meet some of your future colleagues before making a decision.
Proposal of incorporation. If everything goes well, we will make you an offer to join the team.
