AWS Data Engineer (IoT & Data)
We are looking for an AWS Data Engineer to work on our IoT and Data Platform projects. Depending on the project, we work with scripts and small programs for streaming processing, building APIs and backends with Django and FastAPI, or processing data with Spark and other technologies.
You will likely learn many things. We use the AWS IoT suite, MQTT, Kafka, Lambda, DynamoDB, Relational DBs, Redshift, S3, Glue, Airflow… All that matters to us is that you are passionate about Python, data, and “tinkering” (cacharrereo). 100% of the GALEO team uses Python in their daily lives; it is already part of the common stack for data engineers, data scientists, IoT engineers, systems, web developers…
What you will do on a daily basis
- Development and optimization of ETL/ELT processes using PySpark.
- Requirements gathering, client communication, and custom solution design.
- Implementation of container-based services and Serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Fargate).
- Integration and orchestration of AWS services to build complex and scalable data platforms.
Key Requirements
- More than 3 years of experience in development with Python and Spark.
- Solid knowledge of SQL, data design, and modeling.
- Experience building data processing pipelines.
- Proficiency in key AWS services: Glue, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, and Step Functions.
Bonus Points If
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Knowledge of orchestration with Airflow.
- Experience with Kafka for data streaming.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
